Drill Bushing Block

$59.50
Model Number: 9536721-302
This Drill Bushing Block ( P/N 9536721-302)  is machined from S.A.E. 1018 Carbon Steel Alloy.  Each block is “Gas Nitrided” then post oxide procedure is applied.  As well as giving  it the black color, the Gas Nitride procedure “case hardens” the surface providing a corrosion and scratch resistant surface. This block is machined to accommodate a 0.500″ diameter “slip fit” drill bushing on one end and a 0.750″ diameter “slip fit” drill bushing on the other end.

We have improved on the original design to add stainless steel set screws, (which you can see in the photo), to mate with the detent in the  newly designed drill bushings.  We have also machined a “V” groove in bottom face in part to lighten the drill block, but primarily to aid in drilling “centered” holes in control surface push rods or other cylindrical/tubular components.  The “V” grove assures the fastener hole will be perpendicular to the tangent of the tube outer surface with the resulting hole passing through the center of the tube.  The sides of the Drill Bushing Block have been undercut to provide for a finger grip for easier handling.

Approximate Dimensions: 3.8″ Long, 1.1″ Wide, 1.0 ” High,  Approximate Weight 0.62 lbs.

A NEW design for the  “ID Drill Bushing” is now available.  See the photo above. These bushings are sold separately, individually or as a set of 5 or 16 pieces.

The initial release of these  “ID Drill Bushings”  provide internal diameters to accommodate #40, #30, #21, #10 and 1/4 inch will be available individually or in a set of the five .  The 16 Piece set of ID Drill Bushings are used for dilled holes for standard, undersized and oversized fasteners in the aerospace industry. These bushings are placed in the drill block and held securely in place by the stainless steel #10-24 TPI set screw.
